Autumn: A Space for Letting Go and Inner Stillness

Jesen — gozd, listje, naravna tišina. Psihoterapija Novo mesto

As the days grow shorter and nature grows quieter, a need for a different rhythm often awakens in us too. Autumn is a season that naturally invites us to slow down. After more intense months full of obligations and activity, this time of year can be when we start listening to ourselves more consciously.

Slowing down isn't just about stepping back from the outside world — it's an opportunity to make time for whatever we may have been pushing aside. Thoughts that have followed us for a while, feelings that have stayed in the background, needs we haven't truly listened to. Autumn can help create a space where these things come more clearly into view.

This time of year can also become a moment for reflection. How has my year gone? What has weighed on me, and what has strengthened me? Is there anything I want to change? Questions we may not ask often, but which can carry real weight.

We don't need to have the answers right away. It's enough to allow ourselves to simply sit with the questions that open up. And if, along the way, a need arises to talk — to find a safe space where we can look at things a little differently — it's okay to acknowledge that too.

Autumn offers us something important: the chance to pause and turn our attention back to ourselves. And that can be the first step toward change.
